2.0: The Final Reboot
A Terrifyingly Comic and Seductive AI Fable

Written & Directed by Sal Trapani

Join us at the Montauk Library for a reading of a new play by Sal Trapani.
2.0: The Final Reboot is a comic and prescient response to our growing dependence on AI technology. Inspired by Eugene Ionesco’s Rhinoceros, an allegory about the rise of fascism in pre-WWII Europe, the characters in
Trapani’s startling and entertaining techno-horror fable face a similar but more
insidious threat: Artificial Intelligence.

Playwright and director, Sal Trapani is a newly retired Professor of Theatre Arts at Western Connecticut State University. He is also the captain and owner of Moondance Charters. ‘I’ve been fishing all my life. Montauk has always been a place I love and enjoy.”

More information
Sal Trapani has directed around 40 productions at Western Connecticut University, plus numerous performances at venues and festivals in NYC and abroad, all of which have been enriched by his creativity, risk-taking and spirit of collaboration.

A staged reading (aka directed reading) is a script-in-hand performance under the guidance of a director. By eliminating movements, sets and costumes, the creative team and audience can evaluate the play with minimal distractions.
